All members who wish to purchase an Island sticker will need to pass the Seamanship course AND obtain a merit mark. The clock is ticking! Be sure to sign up for Seamanship this fall, and consider working toward a merit mark through any of our Squadron activities (fraternal, civic, and education). The motion that was made and passed at the General Membership meeting in September 2007:
In order to be eligible for the privilege to apply for an Island Use Sticker (IUS) a member must earn at least one merit mark every two years; New members must attain the grade of Seaman within two years of joining, and current members who have not attained the grade of Seaman have two years to do so.
