WORK TOWARDS YOUR MERIT MARK!
Members: Please mark your calendars for Sunday, Sept 23, 2018 when we willsponsor
our 9th annual island clean-up to benefit the public areas of Big Island as well as Goose
Island and Wawatosa (Boy Scout) Islands, managed by the Three Rivers Park District.
Adult volunteers should plan to meet at the Squadron’s Streater Cove facility at 09:30
AM, where a prompt departure to the mentioned areas and islands will occur. Please
dress appropriately(bring water, good footwear, protective clothing, sunscreen etc) and
plan fora 3-4hour event.
We especially need adult members with suitable, beachable boats (pontoons, work type
boats) to provide transport for our volunteers and to transport the typical bottles, cans etc.
we will find back to shore.
This is a great way to enjoy the fall weather, gain some good publicity for our squadron
and will be one of the final ways to work towards your 2018 Merit Mark. Hours worked
will count as CIVIC hours.
