Minnetonka Power Squadron will be hosting a Geodetic Marker search on Saturday, Oct 16 from 10 am to noon (weather permitting). Meet in the upper parking lot in the NW corner of Ridgedale (394 and Plymouth Road) in front of Baccio Restaurant at 10 am. Dress for outdoor trekking – sturdy shoes, long pants and sleeves, sunscreen, and bug spray (for ticks). Bring bottled water (for cleaning markers), rag or small towel, flash light, small garden spade/claw. We may need to clear weeds and dig down a few inches to uncover these important metallic medallions. Bring a cell phone and download the Solocator app (puts GPS, time and date stamp on photos) in advance. Sandra Broekema will bring instructions, NOAA maps, high vis vests and a metal detector.
